Doctor, photographer, runner
My name is Matthew Jones. I am a UK trained doctor with an interest in developing world medicine, writing, running and photography. I have spent time in the last two years in Nepal and South Sudan, as a volunteer doctor and photographer.
The site is named after a photo I took very early on in my journey, in a village in the hills of Nepal. I was sitting in a community meeting working for Raleigh, the youth charity, when a face popped up for a fleeting second at the window. I took a single shot, imperfect, poorly lit, but it has remained my favourite photograph since, a reminder of the pure joy of that moment.
My main interest is human photography, capturing those moments we share, those moments we come to cherish, naturally and without staging.
